Changes to EPF Contributions Offer Employees More Flexibility

The Labour Ministry has announced modifications to the Employees' Provident Funds Scheme 1952, allowing employees to make contributions beyond ₹1,800 on a voluntary basis.

Previously, the scheme had a wage ceiling of ₹15,000 per month, which determined the mandatory social security coverage at the time of employment.

These changes are intended to provide greater flexibility for employees in managing their provident fund contributions.
