According to a recent report by the UNODC, coca cultivation in the Amazon has experienced a significant decline in 2024.
Specifically, the regions of Putumayo and Caquetá saw a 14% decrease, with the area under coca cultivation falling from 56,933 hectares to 49,190 hectares.
This change may reflect ongoing efforts to combat coca production, though the broader implications for the region remain to be fully assessed.
