A comprehensive research initiative has yielded new estimates regarding the population of greater amberjack in the U.S. South Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico.
The project, known as the Greater Amberjack Count, was spearheaded by Dr. Sean P. Powers, a professor of fisheries ecology and Director at the Stokes School of Marine and Environmental Sciences.
This study aims to enhance understanding of greater amberjack populations, which are significant for both ecological balance and fisheries management.
